‘No Good Alone’ is a great new track from Nottingham’s JERUB. His brand of soulful pop is filled with melody and helped along the way by his seriously impressive voice, which is capable of wandering from soft, almost whispered passages, to the soaring energy of the track’s conclusion. The track, while uplifting and mesmerising, ‘No Good Alone’ has humble roots in the universal struggle that was lockdown: “It’s about the idea that I’m not good on my own. I’m that guy who can easily go in on himself and be isolated but I’m learning that that is not always the best place to be.” Be sure to keep an eye on JERUB over the course of 2021. -Dan Peeke
